Fifteen Months…

At fifteen months, Jonas is:  picking up new words and signs so fast that it’s hard to keep up with them all (his newest words include:  “cor” for “corn”, “nah” for “snack”, “bah” for “(cereal) bar”, “popsih” for “popsicle”, “meh” for “milk”, “cuh” for “cup”, “nahnah” for “no no”, “ba” for “bath”, “duh” for “duck”, “boo” for “book” and “boot”, “outsih” for “outside”, “cahcah” for “car”, “opposih” for “opposites”, “Bibuh” for “Bible”, and “pay” for “pray” and his newest signs include:  baby, dad, and car); saying “yeahyeah” when he gets excited about something; putting together several two-word combinations (“dat paci” for “that paci”, “bown beh” for “brown bear” (one of his favorite books), “peekaboo DaDa” for “peek-a-boo DaDa”, “DaDa cahcah” for “DaDa car”, “MaMa ohme” for “MaMa oatmeal”, and “MaMa nana” for “MaMa banana”; getting REALLY excited about knocking over block towers and playing rousing games of hide and seek with DaDa; learning how to help clean up (helping put his blocks and books and toys in their bins) to the “clean up” song; starting to run and walk backwards; getting really good at climbing the stairs and learning how to go down the stairs; figuring out how to flush the toilet and pull the toilet paper off of the roll; experimenting with crayon scribbling (he mostly just likes to eat them and hold them); having a blast exploring outside; asking for his favorite songs (“B-I-N-G-O” and “Clap Your Hands”) in the car by doing the sign for “more” at the end of each song (over and over again); bringing books to us that he wants to read; FINALLY taking to whole milk and drinking 12 ounces a day; cutting one tooth (at the top) and working on a few more (at the bottom); identifying body parts (head, hair, nose, feet, belly, and toes); and telling how old he is…if you say, “Jonas, how old are you?” he holds up one finger.
