We were so excited to get to go out on the boat this afternoon for the first time this spring!!! The dock and the lake were pretty much ghost towns, so it worked well for social distancing. It was Petra’s first boat ride. She was a little nervous at first but ended up taking to it really well. Her favorite part (and all of ours) was stopping to explore the “islands”. We were trying to keep her out of the water because it was so cold, but she jumped right in on our first stop, chasing ducks, and there was no turning back. She had a blast fetching sticks in the water…it is one of the cutest things in the world to me to see her swim. I’m amazed at how spritely she is for an almost 11 year old dog. It took her a while to dry out and warm up afterwards, but once she did, she was so fluffy and looked so cozy and contented, passed out for the rest of the day in her bean bag bed at home.
