Hardest working woman.

Thanks to Seyfrieds.com, you all get to see our sweet boys growing up. But what you don’t see is all the hard work Jodi Seyfried does to make it happen. As you already know, Jodi keeps the boys very busy. Between the library, the zoo, arts and crafts at home, playground playdates, birthday parties, school, doctors visits, and about fifty other activities, Jodi works extremely hard to keep three boys active and not beating on each other. All three boys are so smart and always thinking outside the box. I credit this to Jodi forever keeping them engaged and not just sitting around all day playing video games. Then there is this website. Jodi is always finding a few minutes here, or a few minutes there, to update the website with a post about what the boys are doing. I am very blessed to have married such a hard working woman, and the boys are blessed to have a momma that cares so much about every day. And, she’s not bad to look at either.

Xander and Bennett…

So, last week we had the privilege of babysitting our dear friend Lizza’s precious baby boy, Bennett.  He has to be one of the most laid back little babies that I’ve ever known…I love it.  And he’s such a little man…what an adorable little buddy…he makes me smile.  Here he is hanging out with Xander.

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa…

We very much enjoyed our time in Virginia, visiting with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Tim and Aunt Mary, Cousins Lindsey and Audrey, Aunt Tree and Uncle Dave, and Cousins John and Lily and Peter and Sam and Gianna.  We missed Aunt Sherri and Uncle Rich and Cousins Kaitlyn and Andrew but look forward to seeing them at Christmas time.  We had a blast playing on the swing set, exploring in the woods, fishing, eating wonderful family dinners, going shopping with Grandma, hitting 18 holes of golf with Grandpa, going to the Richmond Zoo (which was super awesome by the way), and playing a rousing game of Euchre (poor Grandpa…he’s my partner and we always lose but it’s still fun).

Xander’s Baptism…

We took a 10 hour road trip to Virginia with both boys (brave, I know, but well worth it) for Xander’s baptism.

It was a beautiful ceremony…my favorite parts had to be when the priest, family, and friends made the sign of the cross on Xander’s forehead and he smiled and that he was baptized in water from the River Jordan that Grandma and Grandpa brought back from their trip to Israel.

Here are pictures of our family with the priest, Xander’s precious godparents (Uncle Tim and Lynne Robertson), and Grandma and Grandpa.

Seven Weeks…

At seven weeks, Xander is: really becoming quite the little clock with his wakeful times, eating habits, and sleeping patterns; continuing to work on his nursing skills (thanks to Betty, the dear lactation consultant at Vanderbilt, who is graciously walking with us through the process); and stealing my heart when he smiles at me behind his bottle.

Splash Pad…

After ducking into a neighbor’s house out of the rain on our evening walk last week, we found out about a splash pad at a local park.  Intrigued, Tom and I loaded Jonas and Xander up on a Sunday morning and headed out with Aunt Beans, who was visiting with us (and who also took this wonderful picture), for a little family fun.  I don’t know who had more fun…Jonas or DaDa.

Finger Painting…

Inspired by MeMe and her ability to expand the artistic horizons of wee ones, I cracked out the finger paints with Jonas a few weeks ago…

I was super excited to use the easel we found at a yard sale earlier in the summer (a great deal at $3) and super nervous to let Jonas be free to bolt and run with paint all over his hands. HaHa!!! He was not a big fan of the smock, so we opted for less clothes and the meal time bib. Tentative at first, he kept pushing me towards the easel and saying, “MaMa do it!” He warmed up to it after a little while, though, (although still not keen on having paint all over his hands) and here he is putting the finishing touches on his first finger painting. Beautiful, eh?
