Gotta love the dollar store for this $6 find (just like the one that the boys played in at MeMe and PaPa’s on Memorial Day)!!! Xander is definitely the bravest of the three boys when it comes to the sprinkler…he has no fear and could play in it all day long.

Zoo with Aunt Beans…
The boys and I had a real treat this morning…we got to go to the zoo with Aunt Beans (who was on vacation from work this week)!!! We rode the carousel, checked out the creatures in the Unseen New World exhibit, brushed the goats, and fed the lorikeets. Yay for family fun!!!
Feeding the Ducks…
After Roman woke up from his morning nap, we all went out for a quick sanity break to feed the ducks. I decided it was time to take the boys home and feed them when they started eating more bread than they were throwing to the ducks. Ha!
Memorial Day Fun…
We had so much fun hanging out at MeMe and PaPa’s on Memorial Day. The boys loved shooting water guns, running in the sprinkler, and playing tee ball with Sam. And it was such a great sight to see the family play baseball on the field Dad made (it made me think of “Field of Dreams”…”if you build it, they will come”…haha). There’s nothing that can compare to being outside on a beautiful day, surrounded by green space, and to getting to spend quality time with family and old friends.
Mommy/Jonas Time…
Jonas and I went out together tonight to Cousin Annabella’s dance recital. It was so precious to get to spend quality time with my little man. He loved the show and said, “Mommy, this is really cool.” Annabella looked like a little doll, and I loved that Jonas and I got to share in that special moment with her and her sweet family.
Visiting with Julie Lee…
My dear friend, Julie Lee, surprised us with a visit this afternoon. It was SO good to see her and to catch up over dinner with the kids. Thank God for true friends who, no matter how much time or space has passed between, always pick up right where they left off. I love this fun shot of her sitting on the front porch with the boys.
Happy Birthday, Tom!!!
All three boys made Daddy cards for his birthday and delivered them with much pride before he left for work this morning. After he got home from work, we sang Happy Birthday again, ate the chocolate cupcakes we made for him, and watched him open his presents (his favorite was the Jerky Maker). Then, Tom and I got to go out to dinner and to Arrington Vineyards…it was SO wonderful!!! (We laughed because of how prepared we are when we go out with the kids but how unprepared we are when we go out by ourselves…probably because we’re so ready to get out of the house…haha. We forgot to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on at Arrington Vineyards, so we opted for the ever so versatile bath towel that he happened to still have in his car from swimming laps at the rec center…nice.). Happy Birthday, Tom!!!
Spending the Day with Cousin Jordan…
The boys and I had a treat today and got to spend the day with Cousin Jordan. She came with us to the Hatcher Family Dairy for a tour, played with Homemade Gak and Do-A-Dot markers with the boys, went for a walk with us around the neighborhood, and helped us cheer Jonas on at his last t-ball game of the season. I was so thankful for her help wrangling the boys at the dairy farm and the ball field. And I loved getting to spend time with my niece and catch up with her (we even had a few minutes of quiet time to play a few rounds of Boggle)!!! We look forward to hanging out with her again this summer.
Creature Catch…
Jonas and Xander got dirty this morning while Roman was napping. We did a Creature Catch with a cardboard box full of dirt, various plastic creatures from the dollar bin (snakes, frogs, and lizards of course), and digging tools. They raced to see who could catch the most, and then we sorted and counted kinds and colors. After Roman woke up, we loaded into the car and headed downtown to enjoy storytime Nashville style with Professor, Mary Mary, J.J. the Lamb, and the Spanish Fox.
Homemade Gak…
Jonas and Xander had a B-L-A-S-T playing with Homemade Gak this morning (mommy did too…haha!!). We made letters, animals, handprints and footprints, and funny noises…four simple ingredients (glue, water, food coloring, and Borax) made for a lot of fun…
Monday Fun Monday…
While Roman was napping this morning, Jonas and Xander had fun doing some Traffic Light Color Matching. After he woke up, we all went to the park to have an end of the school year play date with Jonas’ friends from preschool.
Sticky Window…
We woke up to a rainy morning. So while Roman was taking his morning nap, I thought I’d try out the Tissue Paper Sticky Window idea for the boys and see what they thought. They, of course, fought over who had how many squares and whose squares who was going to pretend vacuum up from the pile left on the floor afterwards AND I’m sure it will be the first thing Roman rips down when he wakes up…but it was still a good rainy day activity nonetheless.
Blowing Bubbles…
So, I’m not going to lie. I’m more than a little daunted by the reality of having all three of my little guys home for the summer (those two days of preschool really help us all out). But I’m going to try to make every day count…even if it’s with something seemingly small that might be big for them. Cue bubbles…haha…I thought it would be a fun way to ring in the summer.
Last Day of School…
Today was Jonas’ last day of preschool (this year…it’s hard to believe he’ll be in the 4/5’s in just a few short months).
It was a special morning, as Tom and I and Xander and Roman joined him in his classroom, along with the parents and siblings of his classmates. His teachers gave each child a little photo book, chronicling their school year in pictures. It is SO priceless being able to look through Jonas’ and to not only see how much he’s changed and grown from the beginning of the school year to the end but to have a window into his preschool world.
Xander and Roman enjoyed kicking around the classroom. Here’s a picture of them checking things out and of Jonas with his fun teachers, Mrs. Patti and Mrs. Angela.
Reds Fans…
MeMe and PaPa, Aunt Jean, and Aunt Beans all came out to cheer Jonas on at his t-ball game this afternoon (go, Reds!!!). Here are a few pictures of the cheering section and of Roman with his wranglers.
Visiting with Aunt Beans…
Aunt Beans came over for a visit this weekend which just delighted our hearts!!!
Mother’s Day Luncheon…
I was so excited to join Jonas this afternoon at his preschool for the Mother’s Day luncheon. He was so cute and said the sweetest things. The pictures he drew and the crafts he made for me made me feel so special. How precious and what a treat to get to spend some quality one on one time with my little man.
