At forty-four weeks, Xander is: waving; saying “dah” for “dog” and “sh” for “shoe”; pointing to his teeth when you ask where they are and crawling for his books when you ask where they are too; sporting four new teeth on top; and walking pretty steadily behind his walking toys.

Thirty Months…
In his thirtieth month, Jonas is: amazing us once again with his sentence composition (“Mommy, I love you so so much, and I’m so glad you’re here to love Jonas”); using “probably”, “actually”, “possibly”, and “definitely” in the correct context; rocking out on his tricycle; reveling in the treasures he finds on our walks (berries, nuts, mossy sticks, snails, ladybugs, rocks, flowers, etc.); signing up for his first summer reading program at the library; having a blast with the kids in our neighborhood mom’s club; and saying goodbye to his pacifier (he’s doing surprisingly well without it but…shh…don’t remind him it’s gone).
Discovery Center…
The boys and I loaded up in the car and headed to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro with our dear neighborhood friends, Honora, Kenzie, and Spencer. We definitely have to go back and check it out again…it was so cool! Here are some pictures of our little explorers…
Easter Egg Hunt…

Card Making & Color Mixing With Ice…
Jonas had so much fun making a birthday card for his friend, Eleanor, with construction paper, glue, and a bowl full of sequins that he ended up making five or six more just for the sheer enjoyment of it.
Here he is mixing colors with ice, another activity idea shamelessly stolen from the Fun and Engaging Activities for Toddlers blog, which he totally loved.
Forty-Three Weeks…
At forty-three weeks, Xander is: clapping; giving kisses; cutting what looks to be like several teeth all at one time (bless his heart); revving up his jabbering with mamama, dadada, nanana, bababa, and vavava; saying “dah” for dog (we were at storytime the other day and he saw a dog on the cover of a DVD a lady sitting next to us had in her hand and said “dah” as clear as day); giving back a toy when you ask for it; opening up cabinet doors; and understanding the function of a toy car garage enough to know where the toy cars go.
Music Class…
The boys (and I) LOVED music class with Mrs. April (so much so that we hope to start back up with her again in the fall). They had a blast listening to and moving to the music, playing with all the different instruments and things (maracas, bells, scarves, sand blocks, drum sticks, balls, xylophones, etc.), and singing along. Here are a few pictures from our last class…
Forty-One Weeks…
At forty-one weeks, Xander is: eating more finger foods (like diced bananas and avocados) and loving it; trying to climb the stairs; and proving to be very tender hearted when it comes to correction (he’s sensitive to looks and tones and will pucker up and cry when you say “no sir” and won’t go back near what you’ve asked him not to do/touch…my mom tells me he reminds her of me when I was a child in that way…little buddy).
Homemade Playdoh…
Jonas had so much fun making homemade playdoh with his friend, Devin, at a toddler playgroup with the Moms’ Club. And Xander loved peeking in at what they were doing and crawling around with the playdoh tools.
Easter Cookies…
Jonas and I had fun making Easter cookies…we had even more fun eating them.
At the Fire Department with Daddy…
I am proud to say that Tom has recently become a volunteer firefighter. Here he is giving the boys a tour of the firehouse…they especially liked checking out the firetruck and seeing DaDa in his firefighting gear.
Twenty-Nine Months…
At twenty-nine months, Jonas is: continuing to amaze and endear us every day with his uncanny ability to communicate; trying his hand at asking questions (he basically spouts off a sentence with a questioning look on his face and an upswing in tone at the end); going to sleep with the light on (he’s been doing this for a while now…I keep waiting for the phase to pass, but, as it looks like it’s here to stay, I think we need to get him a night light); starting to dress and undress himself (he’s getting really good at taking off his jammies and putting on his pants and shoes); reaching a few important potty milestones (so much that I think we might start full on training very soon); and cracking Xander up at the dinner table.
