Grandma and Grandpa Seyfried came for a visit with us at the end of the school year! We watched Roman’s last soccer game, checked out some property that we’re hoping to buy, went to mass, and saw Xander’s kindergarten program together.

WCS Superintendent’s Art Show…
Jonas, as one of two first graders in the county, had the high honor of having his artwork chosen to hang in the Frist Museum as part of the Williamson County Schools Superintendent’s Art Show!!!
His artwork is the pink and green piece that you’ll see in the photos…painted and woven for an African Kente Cloth inspired project at school.
Here he is celebrating with Daddy, Mommy, Aunt Jeanne, his fabulous art teacher Katie Boothe, MeMe and PaPa and Aunt Jean, his godmother Julie Lee, and Maw.
Bowling with the Morozovs…
The boys and I celebrated the last day of winter break with Aunt Heather and Cousins Val and Annabella! Â The kids had fun bowling and eating lunch and playing at Chick-Fil-A, and Heather and I had fun catching up in the midst of it all.
Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa…
We loved our visit with Grandma and Grandpa over New Year’s weekend. We got a lot of relaxing hang time in…playing games and catching up. What a blessing to just do life together.
A Trip to the North Pole…
MeMe and PaPa took the boys and I on a magical ride to the North Pole aboard the North Pole Limited this afternoon!!! We drove to Chattanooga, ate lunch outside the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, watched the model train go ’round and ’round, heard the “All aboard!”, and were on our way. We got our tickets punched, heard a story, shared a milk and cookies snack, sang Christmas carols, met Santa and Mrs. Claus, and jingled our bells. We are so grateful to have had this fun Christmas adventure with MeMe and PaPa!!!
The sweetest thing was hearing what Xander said when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, “Whatever you want to give me.” May we all have such a heart this Christmas and always.
Nursery Rhyme Parade…
Xander had his Nursery Rhyme Parade at school this morning…he went as a lamb from “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. Â We were so happy that Maw could join us for the cuteness!
Lake Gaston…
We had such a wonderful time on our trip to Lake Gaston, NC with Grandma and Grandpa Seyfried, the Northern Seyfrieds, the Longs, and the Paccassis!!! It’s such a blessing to get to spend time with family, just hanging out. Â I love that everybody just does their own thing: Â tubing, wake boarding, jumping off the dock, swimming, fishing, reading, playing in the water, digging in the sand, soaking in the hot tub, running, life guarding, eating, napping, watching kid movies, cooking, playing board games, building with Legos, coloring, making Playdoh creations, going to mass, watching the sunset, mod podging Christmas ornaments, making sidewalk chalk, etc. Â It’s a beautiful thing. Â Among the highlights for me were: Â seeing Tom wakeboard, watching the talent show, and saying the rosary with the family.
Here’s a picture of all of the cousins. For more pictures, click on the “Lake Gaston 2015” page to the right.
Peach Picking
The boys and I met MeMe and PaPa at Pratt’s Orchard this morning to do some peach picking…what a treat!!!
Music City Star…
This afternoon my dear and inspiring cousin, Heather, invited the boys and I to join her and her sweet children, Val and Annabella, on our greatest adventure of the summer!!!
We met up and rode the Music City Star, Nashville’s commuter train, downtown to play at the Cumberland Park Sprayground and back. Taking Heather’s advice, we backpacked it up, and it worked great (so well, in fact, that I’m going to look more into this kids-carrying-their-own-gear thing). Â I think I was even more excited about the train ride than the boys (which is saying a lot because they were super excited). They had fun playing at the spayground with their cousins, while Heather and I enjoyed catching up.
One of the things that makes traveling so interesting is the unexpected. The bus that carries people to the last train out of downtown was caught in car accident traffic, so we had to sit and wait for that traffic to clear and for the bus to arrive before we could head back home. Â The kids were all restless and hungry but ended up either entertaining each other or being entertained by other kids. Â We finally made it back to the station and enjoyed more time to play and catch up over pizza with Heather, Val, and Annabella at their house before heading home for the evening.
We’re looking forward to our next adventure together!!!
Grandma, Grandpa, and Cousin Kaitlyn…
We are so grateful that Grandma, Grandpa, and Cousin Kaitlyn came in town to watch the boys for us so we could go to Cape Charles, VA to celebrate Tom’s best friend Jim’s 40th birthday!!! Â They are already having a good time hanging out…
Pool with the Morozovs…
While Jonas was having fun at Let It Shine camp today, Xander and Roman and I hit up the pool with the Morozovs. Â We had such a good time playing in the water and catching up (here’s a few pictures of the cousins together cutting up). Â We all headed back to our house for lunch and more play time/chat time and popsicles. Â We’re looking forward to more summer adventures together!!!
Kindergarten Program and Picnic…
Jonas had his kindergarten program and end of the year picnic today!!! Â I love that he sang all of the songs for me the night before because I was so hot in the gym squeezed in with all of those people and embarrassed trying to quiet his two fuss bucketedy brothers the whole time that it was hard to concentrate on what was going this morning…ha! It was SO sweet, though, and my heart was so proud and thankful for Jonas and for how he’s grown this year. Â Here’s Jonas with MeMe and PaPa, Maw, and his dear teacher Ms. Chase. Â Yay for Jonas!!!
Lemonade Stand…
Jonas put frozen strawberries (the ones we picked at Valley Home Farm) in the Gatorade he brought us when we were laying sod. Â It was so delicious that he wanted to do a lemonade with strawberries stand today. Â It was super hot, so Tom put up the beach umbrella for some shade. Â Xander had the great idea of twirling the umbrella to attract customers (Tom’s kids know how to sell, man!) and Roman even got in there with him, twirling the umbrella from the water table. Â MeMe and PaPa stopped by, as they were in the area, to buy some lemonade with strawberries and to let me hug their necks and give MeMe her birthday present. Â I loved looking out and seeing Daddy sitting with them. Â What a fun afternoon…we stayed out there for a while and had several customers. Â We’re looking forward to doing it again this summer!
Snowed In With Maw…
Maw graciously spent the night with the boys on Sunday night so Tom and I could celebrate our upcoming 7th anniversary!!! School was out on Monday for President’s Day and was called off today and tomorrow due to the snow and ice. And she’s been snowed in with us since Sunday…it has felt like the holidays. Here’s the sweetest picture of Roman fast asleep in her arms after a sledding outing….preciousness.
Thanksgiving…
We spent Thanksgiving in Virginia this year at Grandma and Grandpa’s house with Grandma and Grandpa, The Seyfrieds, The Longs, and The Paccassis. We enjoyed catching up with family and friends, playing in the woods, eating good food together, working on craft projects, going to mass (although Jonas and I missed it for a trip to the clinic for pink eye), and joining in the annual turkey games.
