Card Making & Color Mixing With Ice…

Jonas had so much fun making a birthday card for his friend, Eleanor, with construction paper, glue, and a bowl full of sequins that he ended up making five or six more just for the sheer enjoyment of it.

Here he is mixing colors with ice, another activity idea shamelessly stolen from the Fun and Engaging Activities for Toddlers blog, which he totally loved.

Music Class…

The boys (and I) LOVED music class with Mrs. April (so much so that we hope to start back up with her again in the fall). They had a blast listening to and moving to the music, playing with all the different instruments and things (maracas, bells, scarves, sand blocks, drum sticks, balls, xylophones, etc.), and singing along. Here are a few pictures from our last class…

Sand and Water Table Fun…

Tom came back from his Costco run with the coolest outdoor toy for the boys…a sand and water table.  While Jonas was doing some preliminary experimenting with it, Xander was hanging out in his exersaucer, looking on and grunting with enthusiasm.  So, it wasn’t long before he was standing up next to him and splashing away (with MaMa’s protective hand at his back, of course…haha…he’s still a bit wobbly).  How fun!!!

Xander and Henry Again…

My dear friend, Betsy, came by to visit with her precious baby, Henry. We had so much fun catching up and got a big kick out of how much the boys have grown and how well they play together. Here’s a picture of Xander (8 and 1/2 months) and Henry (10 and 1/2 months) in the midst of a big army crawling fest.

Here’s a picture of them (you might remember this one from an earlier post) when they first met.

Rainy Day Fun…

When I was a little girl, I loved playing in the rain. Actually, I still do. So, I’m lucky Jonas does too. HeHe!!! A few rainy days ago, we put on our raincoats while Xander was down for his morning nap and had so much fun exploring our sopping wet front yard…splashing in the puddles, digging in the dirt, popping the raindrop bubbles on tree branches, and looking for bugs. Then, we went inside and read our favorite rainy day book…Raindrop Plop! by Wendy Cheyette Lewison.

Happy Birthday, PaPa…

As MeMe and PaPa are still waiting on their new house to be built, we all gathered together at a local hotel to celebrate PaPa’s birthday with gift giving, meal sharing, pool swimming, and cake eating. We had a blast (especially Xander with his first introduction to the pool). Happy Birthday, PaPa…we love you!!!
